Van Hool coaches feature a 13-point standard safety package, including rollover specifications designed to meet a rigorous European standard. ABC ADAS tools have been designed to help owners augment operations via enhanced driver control and awareness. Utilizing integrated cameras and driver alert displays, these tools can detect and warn drivers of potential risks. “Enhancing driver visibility, both outside and inside the coach has great potential in reducing human error”, according to Thom Peebles, Vice President Marketing, ABC Companies, “Driver training and awareness will always be the most important aspect of coach operation, while ADAS systems continue to be adopted to in an effort to assist the driver.”

In addition to RECON options, a variety of other “smart-enabled” features will also be available this year. From bolt on systems that offer adjunct auxiliary power and more visibility into fleet operations, to its comprehensive asset management tool – ABC Connect, the company is focused on a number of new technology offerings in 2020.

- Interior Surveillance 4-Camera System to capture onboard events and enhance passenger & driver security
- Solar Panels w/Smart Charge System
- Smart Equalizer which replaces standard equalizer with a CAN enabled version, enhances visibility of vehicle charging system with a low voltage disconnect (LVDC) option available.
- ABC Connect – a telematics driven asset management tool that enables real-time remote views of vehicle status.
